Under the Radar: Introduction

Under the Radar

In 2005 the Artweb team was one of four groups to receive funding from the 2005-2007 Smash Palace Collaboration Fund. The Smash Palace Fund, which was piloted in 2002-2003, has been established to encourage the convergence between the arts and sciences as a building block for innovation and creativity as a basis for a knowledge economy. It is jointly funded by the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology (MoRST) and Creative New Zealand.

Under the Radar, a sub-project of Artweb, provides a group of landscape interventions that draw attention to aspects of the Auckland region’s volcanic landscapes. It involves collecting data and developing public installations that reflect the relationships between the volcanic field and the city’s lizard populations.
